When walkers post photos of their walks on social media, most like to tell us exactly what we’re looking at. But why not shake things up a bit every now and then by turning your walking photo into a just-for-fun quiz question? That question specifically being #WhereWasMyWalk.
Post a quiz question
Post a photo from your recent walk in Ireland on Twitter, Threads, Facebook, or Instagram making sure it contains enough visible geographical clues. Your quiz question needs to be contained in a new and original post and must not be a response or comment.
Feel free to add your own supplementary question if you want a specific answer (e.g. “We climbed the hill on the left. Can anyone name it?”).
Let us know that you have posted your quiz question on social media by mentioning @IrelandWalking in the post, including the hashtag #WhereWasMyWalk as the question and the hashtag #Ireland to verify that it was in fact in Ireland. If your quiz question is relevant to our current monthly theme, feel free to also include that theme's hashtag. We will share your quiz question for our followers to answer.

Have a guess
Think you might know the answer? Reply to the original post containing the quiz question (not our shared post) stating where in Ireland you think the photo was taken from. Try to be as specific as possible when naming the spot where you think the photo was taken and state the direction of view if you can. Feel free to also identify any distant geographical features that are visible in the photo.
If a question is proving difficult to answer, try narrowing it down by guessing an Irish province or county. We might even make some broad guesses ourselves to move things along.
Reveal the answer
When the first person replies to your quiz question with the correct answer, send a reply back to congratulate them.
Bear in mind that a person might state an Irish province or county name as their answer to a particularly difficult question in an attempt to narrow things down a bit.
Feel free to respond to incorrect answers in your own way, bearing in mind that not everyone will know the place as well as you do.
